"You did what?!" Arthur shouted at Gilbert the following morning.

You had just barely sat down and started eating and Gilbert already told Arthur what happened the night before. You hoped you'd at least have a little time before he dropped the ball and told Arthur. But no such luck. Arthur looked from Gilbert to Ludwig to you and then landed back on Gilbert and he glared.

"Why would you do that? You promised me, Gilbert!" He said, clearly angry.

"Vunderbar, he's more angry then I vould have expected." Gil said, looking to the side, but he couldn't keep the grin from his face. "I told her because I couldn't keep up the façade that I wasn't related to her. The awesome me can only keep up an act for so long."

"Ya know, I'm right here." You said, annoyed that, once again, you were being talked about in front of you like you weren't even there again.

Arthur looked at you. "I'm sorry, love."

Gilbert raised an eyebrow at him. "Did you just call the sister of someone as awesome as me 'love'" he asked, grinning like a madman.

Arthur blinked. He himself didn't even realize he had said that. "It's a common English term." He said, trying to blow it off, you felt you're face fall with unexpected disappointment. Gilbert saw it and then narrowed his eyes at Arthur. "We have a more pressing matter at hand. You went against your promise to me and told (name) that you're both related to her. Why?"

"He felt that I should have known, Arthur." You said before Gilbert had the chance to respond and say something stupid, making Arthur more angry then he already was.  "Which you didn't think I had the right to know." You add, your own anger at him showing through a little bit.

"I'm sorry I told them not to tell you, but you lived as an only child for all of your life. So as a gentleman, I wanted to try to protect you from that unnecessary shock two days after you first got here." He said, trying to justify why he, as he put it, protected you.

"But even so, I had a right to know. I would have found out sooner or later." You said, glaring at him. "Even if you wanted to protect me, you could have done it after I was told and helped me get though the shock of learning that I have two brothers whom of which I've never met."

Arthur stared at you wide eyed. Neither you nor him expected you to give a long speech like that. You were still that shy girl around him. He shook his head and looked at you blank faced. "I'm sorry, love. You're right, you should have been told the moment you met them."

"That's better." You say, and turn to your food.

You feeling your face heat up when he used the word "love" when addressing you again, despite the fact that he himself had practically said it didn't mean anything. You hoped no one would notice. Except, unknown to you, Gilbert saw it and planned to talk to Arthur at some point about him addressing you as such. But not in front of you.

Not long after you calmed Arthur down everyone finished eating and you all walked off to your respective classes.

As the days passed, you slowly broke out of your cocoon and became more sociable. You were able to keep up with Gilbert in banter and you even started teasing Arthur and Alfred. You and Eliza became a lot closer, too. You even considered her your sister at this point. Gilbert, however, forgot all about confronting Arthur about addressing you as love, but it didn't really matter, after the slips at lunch; those occurrences were few and far between.

One night a few days after you got to Hetalia Academy, just after dinner when you were walking with Arthur and Alfred, your phone rang. You looked at the caller ID. It was you're father. You looked at the two boys.

"Can you two wait here? I have to take this." You said and walked a little ways away from them. you answered your phone. "Hello?"

"Hey, sweetie, how are you tonight?" The familiar voice of your father came from the other end of the line.

"I'm all right, I guess." You answer.

"Did you make any friends?" He asked.

You almost nodded before you realized you were on the phone. "Yeah. A few."

"What are their names?" He was certainly being nosey, you thought.

"My roommates name is Eliza and I made friend with an Italian named Feliciano, a German named Ludwig, his brother, a Prussian named Gilbert, an American named Alfred and a Brit named Arthur." You said curtly.

"Ah. Well that sounds nice. I'm glad you made friends, sweetheart." He said. "I love you."

"I love you, too, dad. Send mom my love." You reply.

"That might not be possible." You father mutters before hanging up.

You blinked and stared at your phone, your father's words still ringing in your ears. "What could that have meant?" you said aloud without realizing it.

"What could what have meant?" said familiar British accent from behind you.

You turn and see Arthur. "Is that like you thing now? Walking up behind me and talking, almost scaring me half to death?" You teased.

He shrugged. "Maybe. I'm sorry to have scared you. So what were you just talking about?"

"Where's Alfred?" You asked, trying to change the subject.

"He got bored and went to go find Canada or someone else to annoy." He said. "So are you going to tell me what you were muttering to yourself about or not, love?"

You sighed; obviously Arthur wasn't going to let this go. "It's just something my father said. I told him to pass my love onto my mother, but he said, before he hung up 'That might not be possible.'" You mimicked your fathers voice the best you could.

Arthur looked past you; a thoughtful look clouded his eyes. Then he looked back at you. "It seems kind of vague. Maybe he just meant that your mother wasn't home or something?"

You stared at Arthur for moment, searching his face. Then you shrugged. "I guess. Though, I'm not completely convinced."

"Don't worry about it, love. If something was wrong, you'll find out eventually, right?" He said, trying to reassure you.

You nod. "Yeah…"

"Come on, I know just the thing to cheer you up." He held out his arm for you to take, just like he did the first day you came here, at the party he threw so you could meet some people and make some friends.

You take the arm and he leads the way. You don't know where you're going, but you trust Arthur. He walked you off of the campus and you thought now would be a good time to ask where you were going.

"Um… Arty?" he looked at you, one of his bushy eyebrows raised. "Where exactly are you taking me?"

He grinned at this. "Just trust me." Was all he said.

You, deciding to just let him do as he pleases followed him. You ended up at a small little tea and ice cream shop just outside of the ground of Hetalia Academy. It looked like it was run out of someone's own home, it was quaint and looked cozy. You walked up to the door with Arthur, which he opened for you.

"After you," he said, dipping into a bow and grinned, "my lady."

You walked in and you couldn't help but giggle a little bit. Arthur followed you in and you were greeted by a woman who looked to be about in her sixties. She looked cute for an old woman,

"Can I help you?" She asked and smiled sweetly.

"Table for two, please." Arthur said and returned the sweet smile with a polite one of his own.

The woman nodded and led the two of you to a table that was close to a window and was somewhat secluded. You looked around at the rest of the shop. It had few people in it, but not many. It seemed like a nice place to go and relax. Or get your mind off troubling things, which is what Arthur had in mind, you realized. You decided to play along. At least for a little while.

You turned back to Arthur. "So what are you going to get?"

"Probably a spot of tea." He said and shrugged. "Nothing fancy."

"Well, tea itself could be considered fancy." You tease.

He rolled his emerald green eyes. "Oh, shut it." He laughed. "So what are you going to get?"

"Erm…" you looked at the menu. "Probably just a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream." You reply.

"That's all?" he said. "You certainly are a cheap date, as Alfred would say."

"Oh, so this is a date, now is it?" You say, trying hard not to blush.

"Hardly. Just trying to cheer you up, is all." He said, but you thought you saw the faintest blush on his cheeks.

You felt your heart sink, but you couldn't exactly explain why. "Well, then, thank you." You said.

The woman came back and you both told her what you wanted. Then Arthur looked at you.

"Thank me for what?" He asked.

"Taking me out to cheer me up." You said, and smiled a small smile at him.

He smiled back at you. "No thanks needed."

The two of you fell silent until the tea and the ice cream came out. You both smiled and thanked the woman.

She smiled at you. "I remember when I went on my first date." She said and walked away.

Arthur, who had been sipping his tea, started choking, his eyes as wide as saucers. You sucked in a breath, almost choking on the ice cream that happened to be on the spoon that you were about to eat. The two of you started coughing violently. You were the first to recover and got up and walked over to Arthur and started smacking his back, hoping that would help him. Eventually, he recovered and you took your seat again. The two of you were blushing ferociously, and neither of you spoke. You quickly finished your ice cream. And while you waited for Arthur to finish is tea, you stared out the window, thinking.

That totally could not have been more awkward. Just moments before Arthur had said that this wasn't a date. And then the woman comes by and said that it was. You felt your face heat up again. You quickly tried thinking about something else, forcing yourself to wonder what your brothers were doing so that you wouldn't blush.

While you were looking out the window, Arthur was looking at you, he saw you start blushing again. He wondered what you were thinking. He took another sip of his tea and he realized that he had finished it. He placed the teacup upside down on the plate, he had hoped to read the tea leaves, but you, not even looking at him, got up and walked out of the shop. He watched as you walked out and sighed. He paid the old woman for the tea and ice cream and thanked her. Before he walked out after you, the old woman spoke.

"I hope it wasn't something I had said that made her leave." She told him.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"Well when she walked out, her face was as red as a tomato." She replied.

Arthur nodded and then walked out of the shop and found you on the lawn, just outside. He walked over to you and tapped you on the shoulder. You nearly jumped, squeaking a little. You turned and saw him.

"What were you thinking about just before you walked out of the tea shop?" He asked.

You started twiddling your thumbs and looked at your hands. "Oh. Um… well… I was thinking about my birthday." You replied. "It's coming up and I was just remembering something that my parents did one year. It was really embarrassing." You lied. You were really thinking about what that woman had said.

"Oh, your birthday is coming up?" He said.

You nodded.

"When?" He asked.

"Just a couple of months." You replied.

"Well then, it seems I have to plan another party." He said and smiled at you.

You liked his smile. It was sweet and it made his face look cute. And he so rarely did it, too. So every time he smiled, it was a sight to behold. Arthur looked at his watch and frowned.

"We should get back. It's almost curfew." He said and offered his arm again, like only a gentleman could.

The two of you walked back to Hetalia Academy. Arthur walked you all the way to the door to your building. You stopped at the door and turned to face him.

"So… um… see you in class tomorrow?" You said, scratching the back of your head, looking away. For some reason, after you ran out of the tea shop, you couldn't look Arthur in the eye.

"Yeah. I guess that is so." He said. "Good night, (name). Pleasant dreams." He said before he turned around.

"Good night, Arthur." You said and you turned to the door and walked inside.

Arthur felt himself smile as he walked away from you. Tonight had been pretty good, in his opinion, even if there were a few slight hitches, some of which, were his own. You walked upstairs to your dorm and walked in. Once again, you saw Eliza sitting up on the bed. She grinned at you.

"So why are you so late?" She asked, the grin never leaving her face.

"Oh, ah… um…" You didn't really know how you should answer that question. You sighed. "Arthur took me out for ice cream after dinner."

Her face lit up. "So you went on a date, did you?"

"Well… no. Arthur said that it wasn't a date." You felt your face flush as you walked into your dresser.

"So you wanted it to be a date then?" She asked, a smile heard in her voice.

"N-no. I never said that!" You said as you pulled out some clothes suitable to sleep in. You quickly changed into them and laid down in your bed.

You saw Eliza, still grinning wildly. "You face doesn't tell the same story." She giggled. "You are so cute!"

You rolled your eyes.

"Oh, by the way, (name). What would you like for your birthday when it comes up? I have to start planning right away, or I might not get you the right gift." She said.

You shrugged. "I honestly don't know…" you looked up at the ceiling. "I'll probably love anything you get me. Just… don't go too over board, ok?"

She only nodded, and you thought you saw an evil grin tug on the corners of her lips out of the corner of her eyes. "I know just the thing."
